Our northern Los Angeles, CA office is seeking an experienced Field Technician.
This is outdoor work in all weather types.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Performs standard remedial system maintenance activities to optimize system performance, which includes: cleaning pumps and probes, adjusting system operational parameters, and servicing floats, compressors, and blowers
• Handles equipment troubleshooting, repair, and replacement
• Complies with GES’ Standard Operating Procedures related to environmental sampling, health & safety, decontamination, field note recording, equipment calibration, and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities
• Ensures that installation and repair practices adhere to OSHA requirements and GES engineering standards
• Supervises trenching and remedial system installation contractors on subsurface piping installations
• Mentors junior level technicians
Skills/Requirements:
• A high school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience must include performing below and above grade remediation system installation, working with transfer pumps, oil-water separators, motors, compressors, oxidizers, down-well pneumatic pumps, PIDs, and DO meters.
• Must be reliable and have strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle.
• Drug/Alcohol screening and a Background check are required.
