Bettina Ring, Executive Director
As Executive Director of the Bay Area Open Space Council, Bettina provides strategic direction, manages operations, and leads collaborative efforts to advance land and water conservation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bettina brings over 22 years of related experience in land conservation, organizational development and public policy to her position with the Council. She previously served as the Vice President of The Wilderness Land Trust where she provided oversight for all land acquisitions in California and as Executive Director of the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts. Bettina’s career began with the Virginia Department of Forestry, where she served in various capacities including six years as Deputy Director. Bettina was a co-founder and served as faculty of the Virginia Natural Resources Leadership Institute, which is now in its tenth year. She holds a Bachelors degree in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Masters degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Ryan Branciforte, Director of Conservation Planning
Ryan has over 10 years experience working in the conservation, environmental and resource management fields. For the Council, he manages the development of the regional biodiversity conservation plan, Upland Habitat Goals, as well Transit and Trails and a number of other conservation projects.
Prior to joining the Council, Ryan worked with GreenInfo Network as a GIS Specialist managing a number of regional conservation projects including compilation and oversight of the Bay Area and CA statewide protected lands database, and development of regional land information system for Greenbelt Alliance, and management of the Bay Area Ridge Trail GIS system.
Ryan received his BS degree in International Relations and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
